East Staffordshire Local Plan 2025 – 2043: Scoping & Engagement Strategy Consultation
East Staffordshire Borough Council has published the first consultation for its new Local Plan. The consultation is taking place between 29th July 2026 and closes at 5pm on Thursday 27th August 2026 and you are invited you to respond.
The East Staffordshire Borough New Local Plan will cover the period 2025-2043 and guide decisions about all types of development throughout this time. This consultation seeks views on what to include in a vision, key objectives, where areas for growth/large scale development should be identified and the approach to consultation across East Staffordshire:

– Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report
– Engagement Strategy

During the consultation period, paper copies of the consultation documents will also be available for viewing at East Staffordshire Borough Council’s offices during 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Please ensure that your responses are received before 5pm on Thursday 27th August 2026. Comments received after the end of the consultation may not be considered.

A summary of responses made to the New Local Plan consultation documents will be published in due course and taken into account when preparing the “New Local Plan contents and evidence base” stage through 2026 and the early part of 2027.
