We are pleased to say that 2nd phase of the village signs project has started and is due for completion shortly. The second phase adds village signs to the previously erected village gates. The third and final phase is a minor amendment which will be to add 2 new signs on the C18 road to match the existing signs. Unfortunately we required special permissions from Staffs County Council to add new signs on that road.

Dunstall and the surrounding area is not currently supported by superfast broadband.
Recently we understand that Open Reach have upgraded the broadband services to Rangemore and Tatenhill to enable suppliers such as BTs to provide superfast broadband.
Open Reach are gradually replacing current broadband technology with Infinity Fibre Broadband. Unfortunately Dunstall is out of range from the new fibre cabinet installed near the Little India, due to the distance which is supported by old copper wire.
A residents group has been formed are working with Superfast Staffordshire (a partnership between Staffs County Council and BT) to look in to the feasibility of implementing the next generation broadband directly to the houses in Dunstall (Ultra Fast Broadband). The costs and funding options are currently be assessed. As soon as the residents group know the details they will provide an update to the rest of the village.
The Dunstall Village Pop up pub is popping up again, it will be held at the Dunstall Village Hall on the 15th September from 7.00 – 10.00 pm. Costs £3 per person to enter, please bring your own drinks and glasses

Announcement of Lawns Farm site for secondary school development
As you know, access to a good education is an essential part of growing up healthy, independent and able to get a good job.
County Council Officers have been working with schools across Burton and with East Staffordshire Borough Council Planning Officers to ensure that every child in the town has a place at a local school when they need one.
To date, we’ve invested around £30million to put in place an additional 1,000 primary school places.
As Burton continues to grow, over the next 15 years, we’re expecting to need an additional 2,600 primary school places and an additional 2,600 secondary school places in the town.
I’m writing to you to let you know that we have recently reached a milestone in the provision of these secondary places, with the purchase of land off Branston Lane near Tatenhill.
Now that the county council has purchased this land, we will be looking to secure planning permissions to build a brand new secondary school there, to be open for admissions in September 2018.
This represents a significant investment in Burton’s education provision and is the first secondary school to have been built in the county for over 25 years.
The new school will ensure that Burton’s parents and pupils have choice when it comes to education and will continue to be able to access a good education, in a first class school, close to home.
I understand that you may have questions about this development, but having just completed the purchase of the land, we wanted to give you as much advance notice as possible of this announcement being in the local newspaper.
The official press release is attached for your information.
If you would like more information, please take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions online and if there is something you’d like to know which is not yet covered here, please get in touch with me at
Yours Sincerely,
Helen
